Hi loves, L.A Girl concealers have really blown up this last year so thought I’d do a little post to give you an idea of what they’re like! Swatches are near the end 🙂
I have 3 of the colour correcting concealers in Orange, Green & Yellow as well as my contour colour in Toast and the lighter shade in Creamy Beige and Pure Beige which coincidentally they are nowhere to be found! The past part is, colour correcting is actually a real scientific thing people and if used right it can work wonders for your skin…
- Orange: Covers dark circles. Late night? Grab your orange concealer and get covering those bags, or any other spots with deep discolouration. Hint: Works best on medium/dark skin tones.
- Green: Covers redness/blemishes. Now green is directly across red in the colour wheel, so if you’ve a giant spot use a green concealer to neutralize the red and blend that blemish away.
- Yellow: Hiding blue/purple patches. Perfect for paler skin, any dark undertones can now be banished away with a yellow concealer. Depending on your skin tone, you could even get away with using a yellow concealer as eye primer.
Here is an exert from the L.A Girl website: “Crease-resistant, opaque coverage in a creamy yet lightweight texture. The long-wearing formula camouflages darkness under the eyes, redness and skin imperfections. Provides complete, natural-looking coverage, evens skin tone, covers dark circles and minimizes fine lines around the eyes”
Truth be told, they’re not lying either! I’ve loved these concealers for a long while now, the formula stays at day, doesn’t crease underneath my eyes and most importantly they are so easy to blend in with your foundation. Even the colour correctors sit perfectly on top of clean skin. Each concealer currently retails for £5.00 on Beauty Bay, and I think they also sell on Amazon for the same price.
For the sake of a fiver this product is something everyone should have in their kit, whether your crazy into make up or just into the practical side, try it out – you won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend these concealer for colour correcting, contouring and general concealing all that stuff we all deal with. I hope you’ve found this a useful little guide not only into the products but also a little help with colour correcting – I know it sounds daunting but just practice and you’ll make it perfect!
Let me know if there are any concealers you couldn’t live without! Thanks for the read,
